Yes, .free domains are free, and always will be.
Most good things on internet are free, and domain names should be no different.
You can use a .free domain just like any other. No restrictions and no ads.
Only a selected few “premium” domains will be sold during the initial launch phase. Trademark and Right owners will be invited to a pre-launch procedure
to validate and reserve the domains corresponding to their registered brands and names.
How can I reserve my .free domain?
Just preregister the domain(s) you would like to have and we'll inform you when they become available. Domains that are preregistered multiple times will be attributed during the landrush period, as per the calendar below.
Is it safe?
Just because .free domains are free, it doesn't mean they are less secure. We are actively involved in fighting spam, viruses and other malware, and are developing a state-of-the-art abuse prevention system to ensure everyone feels safe using and visiting .free websites.
.free domains will be launched in several stages as per the schedule below. However, you can already pre-register the ones you really want and we’ll make sure to let you know when they become available.
